- A boy accidentally shoots a friend with a gun he found in the rubble of a destroyed building. The gun turns out to be a clue in a ten-year-old murder case. Lizabeth Scott's son, Jon Whiteley, finds a gun in a bombed out area of London and accidentally shoots a playmate. Out of fear, he flees with the gun. 情节和对白乏善可陈，比较吸引人的是二战之后的伦敦街景，片头有好几分钟的伦敦航拍，片中小男孩跑过伦敦市中心的各种著名景点。在二战结束后10年，伦敦仍然有被炸毁的大片房子尚未重建。
如此吸引人的开场之后是一部彻底跑题的不及格悬疑片。心不在焉漏洞百出的案情线几乎可以忽略，主题实际上是战争创伤，比起小男孩的命运大家似乎更关心自己的空虚寂寞冷。好几处本应用来提供信息的对白莫名成了感性对谈，讲着讲着主线从男主查案忽然变成了男主被感化。战后伦敦被拍得非常美，反复出现的废墟作用很直白，埋在墙里的枪也不过是个隐喻而已，片子根本重点不在这个案子。Cochran的又一个正派角色，打个卡。
